The Residences at La Colombe d’Or, Hines’ 34-story multifamily tower standing behind the historic hotel of the same name in Montrose, celebrated a significant milestone Sept. 10. The Houston-based developer raised a 12-foot magnolia tree on the 33rd floor of the building to celebrate the tower topping out. While much of the $140 million building remains under construction Hines plans to begin delivering the building’s 265 units to residents by the second quarter of 2020. The Residences at La Colombe d’Or is located at 3410 Montrose Blvd., just north of the city’s museum district. Kevin Bachelor, senior managing director at Hines, who oversees the firm’s multifamily projects in the southwest region, said the tower’s location offered the “perfect mix” of being near arts and cultural centers as well as having dining and entertainment offerings within walking distance.
